Celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau at the Frog Leg Inn!

Come celebrate the release of the harvest’s first wine on Sunday, November 23rd. We’ve paired four courses of seasonal offerings to bring out the best of the Beaujolais!  Take a look at this years’ fare.

First Course
Pissaladiere
Puff pastry topped with caramelized red onions, sliced tomatoes, kalamata olives and fresh Parmesan. Drizzled with olive oil.

Second Course
Classic Chicken Cordon Bleu
Chicken breast stuffed with Boar’s Head Ham and Gruyere cheese. Finished with a roasted garlic cream sauce and served with sweet potato mashed and fresh green beans.

Third Course
Spring mix greens topped with maple bacon with Roquefort cheese and apple vinaigrette.

Fourth Course
Pain Perdu au Chocolat
French translation for “Bread Puddding”. Served with a Creme Anglaise.

Paired with one bottle of 2014 Beaujolais Nouveau!

About Beaujolais
Beaujolais [BOE-zjoh-lay] Nouveau is always released the third Thursday of November, regardless of the start of the harvest. It is a purple-pink youthful wine, bottled only 6-8 weeks after harvest. The Gamay grapes used in beaujolais have to be harvested by hand.

The method of production means that there is very little tannin, and the wine flavors are often fruity and lively. It is best served slightly chilled. Unlike most wines, Beaujolais Nouveau is intended for immediate consumption and not for keeping.

Love baking cookies for the holidays but hate the clean-up?  Starting Sunday, November 30th, you’ll have the opportunity to use our kitchen to bake those sweet treats and WE’LL clean up after you.  Plus you’ll enjoy some wine and a light grazing buffet while you bake!

Here’s how it works:

Eight of you will bake 8 dozen cookies.  You will keep one dozen of your cookies and trade the rest for seven dozen of everyone elses’ cookies!

January 30, 2014 – We’ve updated our full menu and wine list! The menu now offers dishes such as a fun appetizer of Goat Cheese & Peach Conserve, the Wild Mushroom Ravioli that vegetarians just love, along with all your old favorites. On November 15, 2012, the Toledo Free Press published a review of the Frog Leg Inn written by their reviewer, who writes under the moniker “Glass City Gourmet”. The Gourmet wrote in part, “… [T]he interior is cozy and the service is friendly. My first reaction upon being seated at a table was one of relief.
